Where technology reaches its limits, our responsibility begins, as does the responsibility to repeatedly point out these limits and, on the one hand, to be open to technology, but at the same time to approach it critically.
The more technology, the more humanity. It is our future skills, our human skills, that now count and are in demand. Intuition to act in uncertainty. Imagination to think and tread new paths, to develop positive visions. Empathy to enable genuine connection and encounter. Sense making, so that we can find meaning together, and finally ethics to do the right thing and make the right decisions when there are no easy solutions. All of this makes us deeply human, and all of this also makes us deeply irreplaceable.
Arndt and Martin discuss current studies, political examples and everyday situations and make it clear that our responsibility begins precisely where technology reaches its limits.
The episode shows which five skills make us deeply human and therefore irreplaceable – and why that is good news for our future.
