ERGO launches health campaign with five new plans

More outpatient services for those with statutory health insurance, an attractive healthcare package for businesses, and a flexible option for switching to private health insurance

From October 2026, ERGO is expanding its health services. Three new supplementary outpatient plans enhance preventive care for those covered by statutory health insurance (GKV); a new supplementary corporate plan allows companies to offer their employees an attractive health package; and a new optional plan guarantees the freedom to switch to private comprehensive health insurance (PKV) for up to 15 years.

Supplementary outpatient insurance plans “Health & Prevention” – “Basic”, “Smart” and “Best”

The new “Health & Prevention” plans from ERGO Krankenversicherung AG (EKV) support those with statutory health insurance by providing subsidies for health check-ups and preventive medical examinations beyond the scope of statutory cover. Policyholders can choose between three plans “Basic”, “Smart” and “Best”. Whilst all three provide subsidies for visual aids such as eyeglasses, contact lenses and laser eye surgery, the two higher tiers “Smart” and “Best” also cover devices such as hearing aids.

These policies can be taken out without having to answer any health questions and with no waiting periods. The benefits apply from the start of the contract.

Supplementary plan for companies: “CorporateMed”

With “CorporateMed”, DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG (DKV) is launching an attractive insurance plan that companies can offer their employees under group policies.

These policies can be taken out without having to answer any health questions; also, there are no waiting periods. The benefits package includes many services often not/not fully covered by statutory insurance, such as visual aids, preventive care, alternative practitioners, and dental care. This is complemented by services such as a booking service for doctor’s appointments, online consultations, and psychological counselling.

The product is designed for companies that wish to offer their employees health benefits without introducing a traditional corporate health insurance scheme: through the group insurance policy, companies provide their employees with access to an attractive range of supplementary insurance cover options on particularly favourable terms. Employees can decide individually whether to take out the policy. There are no costs for the companies.

With ‘CorporateMed’, we are bringing together solid benefits and innovative services in a single product. This enables companies to offer their staff an exclusive health scheme in addition to statutory cover, thereby also enhancing their appeal as employers.

Optional plan “KombiMed Option OPT15”

DKV’s new “KombiMed Option Tarif OPT15” plan offers an early-bird discount for those with statutory health insurance who wish to keep the option of subsequently switching to private health insurance. Recording policyholders’ state of health at the time they take out the policy allows them to join a private health insurance scheme later without having to undergo a further medical assessment. The option remains open for up to 15 years.

This plan is particularly suitable for students, those just starting their careers, and those planning to be self-employed. Even those who already have comprehensive private health insurance with rival providers can use this plan to secure the option of subsequently switching to DKV within a two-year period.

Anyone who wants to keep all their options open and have greater flexibility in their planning should make sure they secure this option. With our new plan, those with statutory health insurance can do just that: secure their option to switch to DKV’s comprehensive health insurance at a later date, even if the legal requirements have not yet been met.
