Chief Underwriting Officer Ler talks to “Börsen-Zeitung” about ERGO's growth targets, new risk landscapes – and why security needs more than just good insurance.
Ler primarily discusses changing risks, their insurability and measures to ensure the resilience of society. In doing so, he emphasises the importance of sustainable risk management. In his opinion, risks such as natural disasters and cybercrime are often still underestimated by many people. In addition to traditional insurance solutions, ERGO focuses on prevention and education to raise awareness. He also advocates close cooperation within the industry and beyond to ensure that risks remain insurable in the future.
I think one has to go with the other: awareness-raising, prevention, climate adaptation, and insurance.
