A festival of inspiration - and ERGO is part of it!

On 5 June it's that time again: re:publica opens its doors for three days in Berlin. This year's motto: “CASH”. ERGO will take part with its own session on financial independence for women.

The festival for the digital society takes place this year from 5 to 7 June in Berlin and has the motto “CASH”. Over the course of three days, various topics will be addressed in lectures and workshops – from media and culture to politics, technology and entertainment.

The participants of re:publica represent a cross-section of our (digital) society. They include representatives from science, politics, companies, hacker cultures, NGOs, media and marketing as well as bloggers, activists, artists and social media experts.

How women can become financially independent

ERGO will be represented with a 30-minute session on tuesday (june 6th, 11:45 am)  in which speakers Nakeema Stefflbauer and Daria Suvorova will discuss on stage 5 how women can become financially independent and protected from poverty in old age. According to the “Gender Pension Gap Report” of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, women receive on average almost 60 percent less pension than men – they often lack several hundred euros in retirement.

Nakeema Stefflbauer is Division Manager at ERGO Technology & Services and leads the Digital Client Services portfolio. She is an expert in software delivery and has more than 15 years of experience leading digital business transformations in the US and Europe. Nakeema is a sought-after international speaker on the impact of algorithmic systems on marginalised groups and enjoys sharing her experiences.

She is also the founder and executive director of the FrauenLoop initiative, a non-profit computer programming network for women living in the EU, immigrants and refugees. Nakeema's motivation is the financial inclusion and independence of women. It qualifies women for in-demand technical jobs in IT as an alternative to low-paid jobs in industries often chosen by women. 

Daria Suvorova is the founder and host of the Women Authors of Achievement (WAA) podcast, where she features the stories of successful women from all walks of life. She also works as a launch manager for expansion markets at Klarna, a European fintech company, and is a guest lecturer at Popakademie Baden-Württemberg, an academic institution for musicians and music industry professionals. In her lecture “Power of Podcasting”, she presents the latest trends in the industry and educates about the podcasting business.
