nexible, ERGO Group’s purely digital insurer, has launched on the Spanish market. With immediate effect, the InsurTech will be offering modular annual travel insurance of the type already successfully sold in Germany and Austria. Using a modular principle, interested parties will be able to put together precisely the insurance cover they need, be it travel cancellation, travel interruption, or illness during travel, to name just a few components. In implementing the offering, nexible is cooperating with the Spanish travel insurance company ERGO Seguros de Viaje, an ERGO Group subsidiary. As part of the cooperation, the Spanish subsidiary will in future be responsible for portfolio management, the customer portal and customer service for the annual travel insurance. nexible itself will be responsible for the technical implementation of the website, posting to accounts, and policy sales. This will ensure the optimum use of existing infrastructures and create synergies between the two companies.
Christoph Meuser, nexible’s Managing Director and Chief Insurance Officer: “With our entry into the Spanish market, we, as nexible, have taken a further important step towards our change in strategy. Last autumn, we decided that we would in future consistently focus on innovative travel and health products for young, digitally-savvy target groups. We want to grow further in these market segments in the coming years and also roll out our offering internationally. With Spain, we are now offering our annual travel insurance in another European country, alongside Germany and Austria.”
nexible was launched in Düsseldorf in 2017 as ERGO Group’s purely digital insurer. The company is a subsidiary of ERGO Digital Ventures.
