FinTech manager to become Head of Sales at ERGO Direkt

Manuel Nothelfer has been appointed Head of Sales at ERGO Direkt Versicherungen with immediate effect. He will focus on developing online activities. The 37-year-old was previously Chief Marketing and Operating Officer as well as Managing Director at FinTech auxmoney; a market place for private borrowers and investors to meet in order to conduct peer-to-peer lending.

After the approval from the German regulatory authority BaFin Nothelfer will be appointed to the Management Boards of the three companies ERGO Direkt Lebensversicherung AG (life insurance), ERGO Direkt Krankenversicherung AG (health insurance) und ERGO Direkt Versicherung AG (property-casualty insurance). Until then, he will act as General Manager.

“In his previous positions, Manuel Nothelfer gained extensive experience in online business and, as entrepreneur, ventured successfully in new directions. He will help us to develop ERGO Direkt into the Online Competence Centre for ERGO Germany. I am very pleased that Mr Nothelfer will take on as Chief Commercial Officer”, emphasised Peter Stockhorst, ERGO Direkt Chairman of the Board.

Prior to joining FinTech auxmoney, Nothelfer was co-founder and CEO of Care.com Europe, an online market place for long-term nursing care and support. He was formerly employed at the global management consultancy firm The Boston Consulting Group, most recently as a senior consultant.

As part of ERGO’s strategy programme, ERGO Direkt will, in future, be in charge of the entire online business in Germany. ERGO Direkt is part of ERGO Digital Ventures AG, which incorporates all digital and direct insurance activities of the Group. The company is to take on a leading role for innovation and digital transformation.

Personnel changes at ERGO

Positions in Group companies to be newly filled. At the beginning of next year, organisational changes are to take effect throughout the ERGO Group.
