What is your job at ERGO?
“I am Head of the Strategy/International Business and Network Management department at ERGO Reiseversicherung (ERV) and in this role, I am now involved in international project work – including projects that are beyond travel insurance. After almost 30 years working in travel insurance, from 1 August 2021 I am moving to the ERGO International division, where I will be responsible for international legal protection business.”
How did you start your career?
“I’ve been working at ERV since 1992 (so it is still my first job) and, apart from the first few years, exclusively in international functions. I started off as a consultant, then became head of department, and finally, as unit manager, I was involved with the internationalization of ERV. Initially through the purchase of companies and establishing branch offices in Europe. But also, from the “noughties”, by building cooperation models in markets outside Europe, particularly in Asia and North America. Most recently, I was also given responsibility for the assistance network that is part of ERV. Over the years, I have organized market entries, supported existing units and implemented market withdrawals, such as the complex run-off of the ERV subsidiary in France.”

“When people only think about why something is not working or is impossible to do, rather than searching for solutions together.”

“Not deciding between career and family, but choosing to have both.”
