Press release 20 July 2017
In future ERGO will expedite its innovation projects and start-up collaborations on the "Factory Berlin" start-up campus. The company has already been active in Berlin since 2013 with its Innovation Lab and start-up collaborations. ERGO is now consolidating these activities onto a single site in order to implement innovations at an even faster pace.
ERGO is contributing the expertise of one of Germany's and Europe's major insurance groups to Factory Berlin. At the same time the company expects to benefit from networking with start-ups and technology companies on the largest start-up campus in Germany.
"We want to identify trends and opportunities faster", says Mark Klein, Chief Digital Officer of the ERGO Group. "Employing our know-how systematically on a single site with strong partners will help us to achieve this goal.”
CEO and founder of Factory Berlin, Udo Schloemer: "We are very much looking forward to cooperating with ERGO as a partner who recognises the potential of innovation and digitalisation and who wants to make use of it in collaboration with members of the Factory community."
The innovation management is part of ERGO Digital Ventures AG which is responsible for all digital and direct activities within ERGO Group AG, including the subsidiary ERGO Direkt. The company acts as the driving force for innovation and digital transformation. By separating the company from traditional business and putting the management focus on digital business, the goal is to make it easier to implement new ideas quickly. By placing all direct and digital activities under one roof, ERGO is consistently pursuing its own new path in the insurance industry.
