As from 1 November 2016, ERGO Direkt will be established as ERGO’s new Competence Centre Online in Germany, extending Online Service, Customer Relationship Management and Data Analytics as new units. The establishment has been made possible by the reconciliation of interests agreed between ERGO Direkt and co-determination committees. The new units will comprise around 100 positions, of which roughly 50 positions are vacant and still need to be filled.
The Online Service Department will extend the customer portals of ERGO and ERGO Direkt to include offers and self-service products which enable users to sort various matters out online. The Customer Relationship Management Department aims to establish joint omni-channel management for all ERGO and ERGO Direkt customers. The aim is to advise and look after customers individually across all sales and service channels. Data Analytics is due to take on the intelligent analysis of data, ranging from taking out policies and settling claims, creating added value for the customer. ERGO Direkt has appointed managers with in-depth expertise in online business from both within the insurance industry and other sectors to set up the three new units as from 1 November 2016. 50 of the 100 jobs are to be newly appointed.
“More and more people are taking out insurance policies online. Consequently, the set-up of these new departments is a significant step towards supporting the digital transformation of the ERGO Group”, stated Peter Stockhorst, Chairman of ERGO Direkt.
As part of ERGO’s strategy programme, ERGO Direkt will, in future, be in charge of the entire online business in Germany. ERGO Direkt is part of ERGO Digital Ventures AG, which incorporates all digital and direct insurance activities of the Group. The company is to take on a leading role for innovation and digital transformation.
