Dr. Jochen Messemer, responsible for International Business on the Management Board of the ERGO Group, will leave the Company at the end of 2016 in best mutual agreement. His successor has not yet been appointed.
The graduated Business Economist Messemer (50) was appointed to the Board of Management of health insurer DKV Deutsche Krankenversicherung AG in 2004 and joined the Group Board of Management in 2008. In 2009, he also took over the Chair of the Board of Management of ERGO International AG. During his time in office, ERGO expanded into the dynamic growth markets in South East Asia with the launch of joint ventures in India and China as well as acquisitions in Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand. The share of international business in Group premiums rose from 21 percent (2010) to 25 percent (2015).

I am sorry to see him leave the Group“, said Dr. Markus Rieß, Chairman of the Board of Management of ERGO Group AG. „He played an essential role in driving forward the expansion of our international business and successfully laid down the tracks for future growth.” Messemer will continue to be involved in implementing the new Group structure at ERGO International AG till the end of the year and help his successor to settle in.
