Press Release, 24.11.2017

Positions in Group companies to be newly filled.

At the beginning of next year, organisational changes are to take effect throughout the ERGO Group. "We will be reallocating corporate tasks," says ERGO´s Chief Executive Officer Markus Rieß. The aim is to make further headway with international expansion and transformation of the Group.

The following changes are planned.

  • In view of his new assignment at EICS, namely setting up the company, including the relevant branches, and establishing relations with brokers and customers in all target markets, Mr. Hofmann will be giving up his position as Chief Executive Officer of ERGO Versicherung AG. As part of his global responsibility, he will however continue to oversee broker sales as a member of its Board of Management.
  • Mathias Scheuber (60) is to become the new Chief Executive Officer at ERGO Versicherung AG. He will also be responsible for claims settlement. Mr. Scheuber has worked in the property-casualty sector for many years and is a qualified expert in the field of digitising claims processes. Up to now, he has been a member of the Board of Management at Allianz Versicherungs-AG, with responsibility for the claims division. He will also be succeeding Mr. Hofmann as a member of the Board of Management at ERGO Deutschland AG.
  • Silke Lautenschläger (49) is to become Chief Executive Officer at DKV Belgium S.A. and will also be taking over responsibility for ERGO Insurance N.V. in Brussels. In this role, she will additionally become a member of the Board of Management at ERGO International AG.

  • To address the areas of company organisation and major projects at ERGO Deutschland AG, Johannes Elsner (39) is to become a new member of ERGO´s senior management. He will report directly to the head of ERGO Deutschland, Achim Kassow. Mr. Elsner comes from McKinsey, where he currently heads the management consultancy office in Munich as partner in the Financial Institutions Practice.
  • Peter Stockhorst (52), currently Chief Executive Officer at ERGO Direkt Versicherungen in Nuremberg, will be leaving the ERGO Group by way of full mutual agreement to take on new career challenges.
  • Sebastian Rapsch (45) will succeed Mr. Stockhorst as Chief Executive Officer of ERGO Direkt Versicherungen in Nuremberg. Mr. Rapsch will remain a member of the DKV Board of Management with responsibility for the areas of Actuarial Services and Supplementary Insurance Product Management. As a result, ERGO will be bundling responsibility for product development at DKV and ERGO Direkt Krankenversicherung in the growing market for supplementary health insurances.

"Together with this team line-up, I look forward to making further headway in implementing our strategy programme, with the aid of which we have been positioning ourselves in the marketplace as fit, digital and successful since 2016. I would expressly like to thank Peter Stockhorst for his successful contribution and wish him all the best for the future," says ERGO boss Rieß.

The changes should, as far as possible, take effect at the beginning of 2018 and are in some cases still subject to approval by the relevant bodies and supervisory authorities.
