ERGO becomes the insurance partner of two million ver.di members

Media Information, 30.01.2019

On 1 January 2019, the ERGO Group AG joined the ver.di member service as a new partner. On this platform, ERGO offers selected insurance and pension products tailored specially to the needs of ver.di members with very favourable rates and bespoke advisory services. The cooperation agreement will initially run for two years.

The ver.di member service, which is managed by an independent service company, supports the German trade union with activities and services designed to retain existing members and act as a recruitment incentive for new members. The carefully vetted services, which are aimed specifically at trade union members, focus primarily on provisions and insurance for occupational and private risks as well as other aspects, such as property, building society savings, health, travel and leisure. All ERGO’s services for ver.di members offer substantial savings or other additional benefits.

“We are very pleased to have gained in ERGO a strong and highly competent partner for our ver.di member service”, says Wolfgang Kremer, Managing Director of ver.di Service GmbH. “Members and their families now have access to an even greater choice of carefully selected products and services from a major company at very advantageous prices and favourable conditions. This cooperation increases the appeal of the ver.di member service and it strengthens our work to retain existing members and gain new ones.”

These ERGO services and products were developed specially for the ver.di member service, and the additional services are exclusively available for ver.di members and their families. The ver.di member service platform also provides a wide range of support and advice services for members of the trade union, including the portal “ÖffentlicherDienst.de – Dein Wegweiser”, a guide to public sector services.

“We are delighted to have access to ver.di’s two million members and look forward to proving our strong competence as risk managers here as well”, says Olaf Bläser, CEO of ERGO Beratung und Vertrieb AG. “In the tender process we demonstrated that we can deliver exceptional services and products in the fields of provisions and insurance, and that our prices and conditions are highly competitive. This is a combination that convinced ver.di we were the right partners.”
